Redline Collector HotWheels
Welcome to High Rev Toys, the ultimate place to find redline collector hotwheels for sale. Collectors hot wheels differ from the "vanilla" hot wheels market because they are rare, unique, one of a kind, or special editions from the redline era.
When Mattel entered the diecast car market, they parted from the theme of other manufacturers, and focused their cars on popular American muscle cars. Mattel decided to use the raised rear end "drag-racer" look for their cars which gave them an extra "macho" appeal. This raised rear end, being popular in California at the time, earned the line the name "California Custom" in the collector hotwheels community.
To further separate collector HotWheels from other standard diecast cars, all cars had added custom features, whether it was racier lines, scoops, side pipes or lifted engines. One thing that really stood out with the toy Hotwheels was the attention to detail on such small scaled cars. From the under-body to the roof, realistic detail defined the Hot Wheels cars. Also, one of the most efining characteristics of the Hot Wheels were the chrome mag wheels on every car.
Because the early Hot Wheels had a red line around the wheels, the name "Redline" became a well known name when referring to vintage, collectable Hot Wheels from the early era.
